PD Opportunities Designed with the General Educator in Mind
Executive Functioning On-line Module
Brand New: Executive Functioning On-line Module (designed with the general educator in mind) is now available to all staff!
The Special Education Department has been creating on-line modules to provide key information and professional development to special educators during the 2014-15 and 2015-16 school year. This year the Special Ed. Dept. has created two modules designed for general education teachers. Although these have been designed with the general educator in mind, the information is applicable to all staff who work with students- all teachers and assistants. The topics of the modules are executive functioning and accommodations.
The first module “Executive Functioning. Designed with the General Educator in Mind” provides information about Executive Functioning (EF) skills and strategies to help students who have difficulty with EF skills. Executive functioning skills are extremely important for all students and are key to successfully accessing the new standards.
The module may be viewed in a group or individually and can be referenced as needed. This module will be available in Moodle by November 10, 2015. Please see the attached directions to access Moodle for this module.
